Front Cover: Development of a Thermodynamically Favorable Multi‐enzyme Cascade Reaction for Efficient Sustainable Production of ω‐Amino Fatty Acids and α,ω‐Diamines (ChemSusChem 6/2024)
The Front Cover illustrates a sustainable biosynthesis route to nylon monomers by using bio-based substrate dicarboxylic acids. Four distinct enzymes are shown as gears meshing together, symbolizing synergy in catalyzing the synthesis of nylon monomers ω-amino fatty acids and α,ω-diamines. A red vehicle symbolizes the thermodynamically driven multi-enzymatic cascade reaction we designed. The sustainable multi-enzyme cascade reaction provides a promising alternative for the effective production of nylon in an environmentally friendly manner.
