NHC-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis of chiral antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral active molecules.
Abstract
Chiral pesticides have gained significant attention in modern agrochemical research and development due to the distinct interactions of their enantiomers with biological targets. N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) have emerged as powerful tools in asymmetric catalysis for the enantioselective synthesis of chiral molecules. This review highlights the recent advancements in NHC-organocatalytic strategies for constructing functionally diverse chiral architectures with applications in crop protection.
