Division Award
At irregular intervals, the Division of Detergent Chemistry presents this award to selected personalities in the field of detergent chemistry who have distinguished themselves through extraordinary achievements in the field of detergent chemistry and who have rendered outstanding services to the Division. The Division Awards are presented at the European Detergents Conference, which takes place every year in October at the SEPAWA CONGRESS in Berlin. The decision on the award is made by the Division Board.

On 16 October 2024, at the European Detergents Conference in Berlin, the GDCh Division of Detergent Chemistry awarded the Division Award 2024 to Dr. Felix Müller.
."The award is presented to Dr Felix Müller in recognition of his many years of active support for the work of the GDCh Division of Detergent Chemistry. In his now more than 27 years of membership of the Division, he has contributed in many ways with extraordinary personal commitment, both professionally and organisationally. In Felix Müller, we are honouring a personality who has rendered outstanding services above all at the interface between science and industry. Felix Müller has passed on his extensive knowledge of surfactants as a speaker and course leader to almost 200 young scientists in more than 20 GDCh training courses over a decade. In addition, Felix Müller has held various roles in the Division since 2002 as a board member, deputy chairman and member of the scientific advisory board. Felix Müller's impact extends far beyond the work of the specialist group, into academia and the economy, as his mandates on various advisory boards impressively demonstrate."

With a delay of two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, the GDCh Division of Detergent Chemistry presented the award on 26 October 2022. On 26 October 2022, at the European Detergents Conference the Division Awards 2020 to Dr Astrid Rohrdanz - in a long-awaited presence in Berlin.
"The award is presented to Dr Astrid Rohrdanz in recognition of her many years of active support for the work of the GDCh Division of Detergent Chemistry. In her 27 years as a member of the Division of Detergent Chemistry and the Main Committee on Detergents (HAD), she has supported the work of the Division in many ways, both professionally and organisationally among other things, she was a member of the Board and Deputy Chair of the Division from 2006 to 2009. She has been advising the Board as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board since 2010. She was also Chair of the HAD from 2005 to 2019. In addition to her commitment to the conceptual development of the specialist group's work, she dealt professionally with issues relating to detergents and cleaning agents and endeavoured to share her knowledge with others by participating in Conferences and international projects."
.
On the occasion of the 16th European Detergents Conference, which took place as a virtual event on 28 October 2020, the Division of Detergent Chemistry presented this award 2020 to Prof. Dr Heinz Rehage.
."The prize is awarded to Prof. Dr Heinz Rehage in recognition of his fundamental work in the fields of surfactant and colloid research. His work on foams, gels, emulsions, nanoparticles and ultra-thin films is characterised by a high level of creativity, but is also very practical and application-oriented. In particular, his work on controlled colloidal systems opens up new avenues for innovative strategies in materials science. Prof. Dr Heinz Rehage has received numerous awards, including the Innovation Award of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2001. He was a member of the Board of the Division of Detergent Chemistry for many years and was also involved in other scientific organisations such as the Colloid Society and several IUPAC commissions."
