The GDCh participates in discussions and activities at national and international level in a variety of ways. In the national context, this primarily relates to topic-orientated cooperation with friendly professional societies. In an international context, the GDCh is just as concerned with a stronger integration of European chemical societies with the aim of creating a common European research area in chemistry as it is with close co-operation with our partners in non-European countries. To achieve these goals, the GDCh is actively involved in the European and international umbrella organisations of chemistry.

. Specialised societies in Germany)The GDCh has concluded bilateral cooperation agreements with several foreign chemical societies, which define the cooperation and grant members of both societies certain benefits. You can find more information here.
In its statutes, the GDCh has also defined its objective as "the support of members in need and their relatives or survivors within the meaning of Section 53 of the German Fiscal Code (AO)".
It thus also pursues charitable purposes.
